Introducing the New Owners of the Dardanup Tavern

The Dardanup Tavern is under new management, and we're thrilled to introduce you to the passionate people behind the new vision for our beloved community pub: Tracey Wheat and Ken Simpson. Together, they are committed to honouring the tavern's rich history while creating a vibrant, community-focused hub for the future.

Tracey Wheat - The Visionary

Tracey, a Bunbury native, is a seasoned entrepreneur with a diverse background that spans the justice sector, retail and hospitality. After spending 15 years in the Pilbara and Kimberley regions, she embarked on a nomadic journey. Her travels brought her to Dardanup to meet her new granddaughter, and she quickly fell in love with both Grace and the town. When she heard a rumour that “The Dardy” was for sale, she had a feeling it was the one for her, and the rest, as they say, is history.

As the driving force behind Saoir Pty Ltd, Tracey has a proven track record of growing businesses and fostering community connections. Her business acumen, honed through roles with National Companies and as a multiple award-winning manager for Prouds the Jewellers, is matched by her commitment to people, which she demonstrates through her work as a nationally accredited mediator. Tracey’s passion for business is deeply rooted in her family's entrepreneurial background, and she is dedicated to creating a welcoming and memorable experience for every guest.

Ken Simpson - The Guardian of Heritage

Joining Tracey is Ken Simpson, originally from Ireland, who brings a wealth of experience in business and a deep appreciation for heritage and restoration. Ken's background in the construction and demolition industries, coupled with his expertise in managing large-scale operations and navigating complex regulations, makes him the perfect partner to guide the evolution of the Dardanup Tavern.

You'll often find Ken lovingly restoring beautiful residential buildings and cheering on his favourite AFL team - Fremantle Dockers.

Ken is excited about bringing Dardanup Tavern’s historic charm back to life for the community to enjoy.

Our Vision

Tracey and Ken's vision is to make the Dardanup Tavern a cornerstone of the community — a place where locals and visitors feel a sense of belonging. The tavern is a warm and inviting space, offering a family-friendly atmosphere where people can connect and create lasting memories.

The menu features modern country-style dishes made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients, celebrating the best of the region's produce. The bar showcases a curated selection of local wines and beers. Beyond dining, the tavern is a charming venue for small functions, from birthdays to weddings, with a focus on personalised service.

Tracey and Ken invite you to come and be a part of the next chapter for the Dardanup Tavern. Whether you're a long-time local or just passing through, they look forward to welcoming you to the new Dardy.
